Wrong Shoes is an artist-led touring theatre company based in Wiltshire. Our shows are visceral, visual and daring - created to affect, inspire and challenge audiences. Bold, uncompromising and sometimes uncomfortable, our storytelling blends visual performance, music and text - exploring fears, testing our perceptions and exposing unexpected beauty in the most unlikely of places.

​Our process begins with intensive research and experimentation. The work is refined through collaborative exploration, reflection and a willingness to take leaps and make mistakes. 

​

Funded by Arts Council England, Wrong Shoes’ next work ‘Janus’, is a piece about our individual and collective struggle with self-identity, as we try to understand our unique place in an often isolating world. It examines cult mentality, brain washing, cognitive dissonance and those who abuse their position to achieve their own self-fulfilling desires.

We have an exciting opportunity for 3 performers to join our existing ensemble:

​

Actor/musician– Male, playing age 25+, good folk singing voice and ability to play acoustic guitar. 
 

Actor/physical performer – Female, playing age 18-25

 

Actor/physical performer - Female, playing age 35+
 

We are looking for those who are:

 

·      Experienced in devising, performing and working collaboratively as an ensemble

·      Theatre trained (degree level or equivalent) or have been working as a professional performer for a minimum of 2 years.

·      Based in Wiltshire or a reasonable commute to our base in Swindon.

·      Available for rehearsal and performance dates (see below)

AUDITION INFORMATION: We will be inviting successful applicants to take part in an audition workshop with the company on Sunday, 11th August. Performers auditioning for the Actor/musician must also be prepared to perform a song of their choice.
